Born in Racine, Wisconsin, Kristin Bauer studied fine arts in St. Louis, Boston and New York, but eventually decided to pursue an acting career and moved to Los Angeles. Her first acting role was an uncredited appearance in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine in 1993. The following year she made guest appearances in episodes of Burke's Law, L.A. Law, Lois & Clark The New Adventures of Superman, Silk Stalkings and the role of Suzie Endicott in the TV movie Columbo: Undercover.
